All the pictures must be uploaded to Assets before adding them to any newsletters. Move all the files that will be on the newsletter under the Newsletter-index. You can create e.g. new indexes for different campaigns under the Newsletter-index.
Adding pictures to newsletters works the same way as in all the other content areas.
Adding links to newsletters works the same way as in all the other content areas.
